Unitil Shareholders Re-Elect Directors at Annual Meeting

Hampton, NH (April 16, 2009): Unitil Corporation (NYSE:UTL) ( held its Annual Meeting of Shareholders today at the corporate office in Hampton, New Hampshire. Shareholders re-elected William D. Adams, Robert G. Schoenberger, and Sarah P. Voll to the Board of Directors for three-year terms.

"2008 was a transformative year for Unitil with the acquisition of Northern Utilities, Inc. and Granite State Gas Transmission, Inc.," said Robert G. Schoenberger, Unitil's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Despite the current tough economic environment, Unitil is well positioned to continue to grow in the years ahead."
