Usource and NH BIA Create Competitive Energy Partnership

06/14/2005

Hampton, NH - June 14, 2005: Unitil Corporation (AMEX:UTL) (www.unitil.com) today announced that its non-regulated subsidiary Usource has signed an exclusive agreement with the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire (BIA) to provide energy brokerage and consulting services to BIA members. The program will operate under the name "The BIA Energy Buying Group, powered by Usource."

New Hampshire operates under an electric restructuring statute that provides for customer choice and a transition period that ends in April 2006. Competitive electric and gas supply opportunities are beginning to develop and are expected to accelerate as the end of the transition period approaches.

"We look forward to helping the BIA and its members realize the benefits of competitive energy markets," said Usource President Todd Black. "This agreement is additional recognition of Usource's value proposition and expanding market presence throughout the Northeast."

"This agreement will help New Hampshire companies secure better prices for electricity and natural gas," said BIA President Jim Roche. "This, in turn, will help them become more competitive and potentially more profitable."

BIA is New Hampshire's leading business advocacy group. Its member companies employ 80,000 people throughout New Hampshire and contribute $5 billion per year in payroll to the state's economy. The BIA holds the charter as New Hampshire's state chamber of commerce.
