Hampton, NH – June 28,2001. Unitil Corporation (AMEX:UTL) (www.unitil.com) announced that its Board of Directors has elected David P. Brownell of Stratham, NH and Michael B. Green of Contoocook, NH to its Board.

Mr. Brownell is a Senior Vice President for Tyco International Ltd. where he has fulfilled a variety of key responsibilities focussed on communications, investor relations and marketing. Tyco International is a diversified manufacturing and services company operating worldwide and maintains its corporate headquarters in Exeter, New Hampshire. Mr. Brownell also serves on several Boards including the United Way of the Greater Seacoast, University of New Hampshire Foundation and the NH Junior Achievement Advisory Council.
Mr. Green is President and CEO of Capital Region Health Care and Concord Hospital of Concord, NH. His Board affiliations include Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, Foundation for Healthy Communities, Community Provider Network of Central NH, and Merrimack County Savings Bank.
Mr. Brownell and Mr. Green begin their positions effective immediately and will stand for election to a regular three-year term at Unitil’s next Annual Meeting of Shareholders in April 2002.
